L'ETE FEMME, French for "the summer woman".
Against the lighting-fast fashion world filled with over-excitement, L’ETE FEMME was born for the gentle women who find comfort in the chaos. She cares deeply about the planet and the people who make her clothes. She appreciates the beauty in simplicity and invests in quality pieces that will last.
Longevity is at the heart of their design philosophy. They take a slow and considered approach to create timeless and versatile designs that can be worn time after time. At the end of day, no matter what you do in supply chain, it is not sustainable if the design cannot stand the test of time. This is their starting point to a more sustainable fashion.
They are committed to only use natural, bio-degradable fabrics in their collections and never use synthetics that have profound effects on the planet’s land-fill levels and oceans. Where possible these are fabrics certified through the Oeko-tex Standard 100 and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
All of their garments are exclusively made in an in-house studio rather than a big factory. It not only allows them to produce to demand leaving less risk of overproduction and wastes in landfill, but also helps them to build meaningful relationships with all the artisans they work with. They personally know the names of their family, their favourite movies and their passion. L'ETE FEMME strives to create bonds that lead to mutual progress and empowerment.
They use 100% compostable satchels for shipping to their online customers. Each order is carefully packaged in an organic cotton drawstring bag that can be reused. They avoid excess inner packaging such as tissue paper and boxes in the aid of reducing landfill.
